The Canadian Open will be a two-day tournament featuring six rounds of Swiss pairings. Awards will be presented for the overall winners of the Canadian Open, based on results from both days. Additionally, daily awards will be given at the end of each day to recognize top performers.
This format is designed to encourage full two-day participation while also providing an opportunity for players who can only attend one day to compete for daily honors.
Day one will mirror the Amorical ruleset. Day 2 will introduce additional skills. Please note that we will use the below Winter Themed Kickoff Table to represent the Canadian location of the event.
2. Freezing Fog
A bitter, ground-hugging fog rolls across the pitch. Fingers stiffen, breath freezes in the air, and even veteran players struggle to feel the ball through numbed hands.
Effect: Apply a -1 modifier to all Agility tests made to catch, pick up, intercept, or secure the ball.
3. Wild Winds
Howling winter gusts whip through the stadium, tearing banners loose and knocking players off balance. Any pass becomes a gamble as the ball is tossed about like a leaf.
Effect: Apply a -1 modifier to all Passing Ability tests. The ball scatters three times while airborne before landing.
4–10. Perfect Conditions (Well, Almost)
Cold, clear, and dry enough for proper Blood Bowl. It is not pleasant, but it is familiar, and the crowd is satisfied that nothing short of violence will decide the match.
Effect: No additional rules apply.
11. Icy Ball
The cold has seeped deep into the leather itself. The ball is hard, slick, and painfully cold to the touch, rattling loose even from confident grips as it skids and bounces unpredictably.
Effect: All players are treated as having the Unsteady trait. Secure the Ball actions cannot be taken.
12. Blizzard
A full whiteout descends on the stadium. Snow lashes sideways, visibility drops to nothing, and players can barely see the end zones, let alone their teammates.
Effect: Apply a -1 modifier when a player attempts to Rush. Only Quick and Short passes may be attempted.
